Clay Play Days! Session 2
Did your kids miss out on in-person art classes this year? Summer is a great time to come and play with clay! This summer clay class is for students ages 6-12 and has two sessions with different projects! Sign up for either one- or both!
July 20, 22, 27 and 29th
All classes will be held between 1:30 - 3:00 pm
With a small class of 6 students, your child will explore the many techniques of making ceramics including slab-building, coils, stamping, sculpting, and texturing works. They will also learn about glazing techniques.
A variety of projects will be completed over the course of the session including ‘Gnome Homes’ for the garden, coil pots mug with handle, and a full ceramic meal including burgers, and ice cream for dessert in the Pop Art style of Wayne Thiebaud and C. Oldenburg.
Classes are taught by local ceramic artist and art educator Gwen Campbell, who has been teaching art to children in Richmond for 26 years. She is a member of Carved in Mud Studio and currently has her work on display at ‘Stuff’ store in Scott's Addition. She teaches art at Tuckahoe Montessori School as well as lessons privately to local students.
