About the Studios

Dan Reeves and Jennifer Whilden bring a collective wealth of experience and a lot of love to Carved in Mud Studios. They both have a deep love of the arts and a passion for launching artists into thriving careers.

Dan will tell you that what he's best at are people and words. He has a long resume of humanitarian work that he's done both domestically and abroad. Coming alongside of creatives and helping them realize their potential is one of his favorite things. He's a whiz at all of the computery things a business needs to run and also knows his way around a toolbox. Dan is a writer and a poet...but Jennifer is teaching him how to throw and he's pretty good at that too!

Jennifer has been a potter since she changed her major from Art Education to Ceramics the second semester of her junior year of college. (Sorry mom and dad!) Along the way she has been a competitive gymnastics coach, gallery director, podcaster, and columnist for the RTD to name a few of her pursuits. Jennifer loves clay and she loves people. This studio is a dream come true for her.

Jennifer and Dan collectively have 5 kids (ages 13-27). Together they have two rescue pups named Dolce and Ditto. Their's is a story of a mid-life reset, a second chance at love, and a strong desire to live life with others.
